Soccer Recap: Calhoun Takes a Loss

Calhoun came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 8-0 to the El Campo Ricebirds. The Sandcrabs haven't had much luck with the Ricebirds recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Calhoun's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for El Campo, they pushed their record up to 17-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Coming up, Calhoun will welcome Columbus at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Calhoun will be up against Columbus' rather soft defense (which has allowed 3.6 goals per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for El Campo, they are taking a road trip to take on Hallettsville at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hallettsville will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something El Campo surely won't give up without a fight.
