Recap: Bryn Mawr Mawrtians vs. Severn School Admirals
The Bryn Mawr Mawrtians were the 35-31 winner over the Severn School Admirals when they last played one another back in February of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The contest between the two teams wasn't particularly close, with Bryn Mawr falling 47-31. They have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Severn School's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from KATIE MENTESANA, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that MENTESANA pulled down eight or more rebounds. LAYLA EPPS was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Bryn Mawr bumped their record down to 2-2 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Severn School, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bryn Mawr will take on Maryvale Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Maryvale Prep is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Severn School, they will play host again and welcome Bel Air, where tip off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Maryland (Bel Air is ranked 101st, while Severn School is ranked 124th).
