Basketball Recap: Center Grove Beats Cathedral for Their Fourth Straight Win

If Cathedral wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Center Grove, they should've done a better job of containing Ava Grant. The Center Grove Trojans enjoyed a cozy 49-32 win over the Cathedral Fighting Irish on Wednesday thanks in part to Grant, who went 5 of 9 en route to 15 points. What's more, she also racked up three rebounds, the most she's had since back in November of 2024.

Despite the loss, Cathedral still got an impressive performance from Jaeda Wilson, who posted 11 points in addition to five boards and three steals. That was a full 34.4% of Cathedral's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Center Grove, bringing their record for this year to 17-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.5 points per game. As for Cathedral, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-8 record.

Center Grove wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 67-59 defeat against Hamilton Southeastern on the 25th. Cathedral has also already played their next contest, a 45-31 win against Huntington North on the 25th.
