Preview: Victoria East Titans vs. Gregory-Portland Wildcats

Victoria East is 10-0 against Gregory-Portland since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Victoria East Titans will be home for the holidays to greet the Gregory-Portland Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. Victoria East has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Victoria East scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Corpus Christi Moody 73-28 at home. That looming 73-28 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Victoria East yet this season.

Meanwhile, Gregory-Portland made easy work of Aransas Pass on Friday and carried off a 63-38 win. With Gregory-Portland ahead 41-18 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Madison Kilgore was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played. Rheanna Escamilla was another key contributor, scoring six points along with ten assists and three steals.

Victoria East has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for Gregory-Portland, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-7.

Victoria East didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Gregory-Portland when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 54-50 win.
