Basketball Game Preview: Walton Raiders vs. Cherokee Warriors

Walton hasn't had much luck against Cherokee recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Walton Raiders will look to defend their home court against the Cherokee Warriors at 6:00 p.m.

Walton managed to keep up with Marietta until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Walton lost 57-33 to Marietta. While the Raiders didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Blue Devils 9-4 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, Cherokee entered their tilt with North Cobb on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Everything went their way against the Warriors as they made off with a 60-34 victory. Cherokee has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 22 points or more this season.

Cherokee pushed their record up to 16-3 with the win, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.6 points per game. As for Walton, their loss dropped their record down to 9-9.
