Preview: Strongsville Mustangs vs. Berea-Midpark Titans
Strongsville has been on the road for two straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Berea-Midpark Titans at 7:00 p.m. Strongsville has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 327 points over their last five contests.
Even though Euclid scored an imposing 57 points on Friday, Strongsville still came out on top. Strongsville snuck past Euclid with a 61-57 victory. Given Strongsville's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 174th, while Euclid is ranked 671st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Berea-Midpark put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by a 79-59 margin over Steele. Considering Berea-Midpark has won three games by more than 19 points this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
It was another big night for Devyn Zahursky, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 20 rebounds. That's the first time this season that he scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyson Clay, who scored 11 points.
Strongsville pushed their record up to 4-1 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Berea-Midpark, their win bumped their record up to 5-0.
Strongsville came out on top in a nail-biter against Berea-Midpark in their previous matchup back in February, sneaking past 73-70. Will Strongsville repeat their success, or does Berea-Midpark have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
