The South Stanly Rowdy Rebel Bulls will head out on the road to square off against the Union Academy Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. South Stanly comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Last Tuesday, South Stanly lost to North Stanly at home by a 44-30 margin.

South Stanly's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Briley Page, who posted 16 points and five steals, and Kanija Colson, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds. That's the most points Page has posted since back in December of 2023.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Union Academy against Gray Stone Day on Tuesday as the team secured a 59-15 win. The Cardinals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 contests by 26 points or more this season.
South Stanly better keep an eye on Kayl Starnes. She was instrumental in Union Academy's win, going 7 of 10 on her way to 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Laney Hildreth, who put up nine points.
Union Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 31 consecutive games dating back to last season.
Union Academy pushed their record up to 17-1 with the victory, which was their 11th straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 41.2 points. As for South Stanly, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-18.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: South Stanly has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 30.1 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Union Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 38.9 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
South Stanly took a serious blow against Union Academy in their previous meeting back in January, falling 67-18. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point South Stanly was down 41-9.
