Basketball Recap: Surry Central Wins Going Away Against South Iredell

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Surry Central's strategy against South Iredell on Friday. The Golden Eagles strolled past the Vikings with points to spare, taking the game 46-27. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Golden Eagles.

Layla Wall was the offensive standout of the game as she posted nine points in addition to seven boards and six steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Sierra Carpenter, who scored seven points.

Surry Central was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Iredell only posted six.

Surry Central's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for South Iredell, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Surry Central has already played their next contest, a 59-26 win against Elkin on the 25th. As for South Iredell, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 48-16 defeat against Porter Ridge on the 24th.
