Soccer Recap: Lugoff-Elgin Takes a Loss

After soaring to five goals the game before, Lugoff-Elgin was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They lost 6-0 to the Blythewood Bengals. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Blythewood this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-0 back in March.

Lugoff-Elgin's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Blythewood, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 13-1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lugoff-Elgin will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Spring Valley at 6:00 p.m. on the 22nd. Lugoff-Elgin's defense better be ready for this one: Spring Valley have averaged an impressive 3.1 goals per game this season. Blythewood also won't see the pitch for a while: their next contest is against Chapin at 7:00 p.m. on the 23rd. The two teams have allowed few goals on average (Blythewood 0.2, Chapin 0.3) so any goals scored will be well earned.
