Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Keith). They blew past the Johnson Eagles, posting an 80-22 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Bears as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Keith's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Titus Lanier, who went 11 for 20 on his way to 26 points. Lanier's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jarius Sanders, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 10 points in addition to eight boards and five steals.
Keith was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Keith's win bumped their record up to 6-11. As for Johnson, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Keith and Charles Henderson will face off at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. As for Johnson, they will square off against University Charter at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Johnson is facing University Charter at the right time seeing as University Charter is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
