Basketball Recap: Tremont Comes Up Short

Tremont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 56-39 to the Blue Mountain Cougars. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 52-46 back in November of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Tremont saw an underclassman step up: freshman Cooper Platt dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 boards. Platt is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last three games he's played.

Tremont's loss dropped their record down to 5-19. As for Blue Mountain, their victory bumped their record up to 4-14.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tremont will head out to square off against Wheeler at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wheeler knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Tremont likes a good challenge. As for Blue Mountain, they will head out on the road to challenge Thrasher at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
