Football Recap: Evansville Central Bears vs. Evansville Bosse Bulldogs
There's no place like home for Evansville Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against the Evansville Bosse Bulldogs by a score of 28-20 on Friday. The Bears' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Evansville Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Easton Vetter, who picked up 94 receiving yards and one score. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 55 yards. Devon Dejarnette also helped out with an impressive 118 receiving yards.
Evansville Central didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Michael Zahn and Lavanden Wallis. Evansville Central received some extra help from Wallis, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Despite the loss, Evansville Bosse saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Aiden Boyd rushed for 188 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 9.0 yards per carry.
