Softball Game Preview: Nyack Red Hawks vs. Nanuet Golden Knights

The Nyack Red Hawks will take on the Nanuet Golden Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Nyack has given up an average of 7.7 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Nyack lost 16-2 to Pearl River on Thursday. The Red Hawks have struggled against the Pirates recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Nyack saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Yelina Arias, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one RBI.

Nanuet's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Eastchester last Tuesday. The Golden Knights were the clear victors by a 19-0 margin over Gorton. The Golden Knights not only won last Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 20, 2024 (when they won 20-0).

Nanuet's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Nyack, they suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 6-4.

Nyack was able to grind out a solid win over Nanuet when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Hawks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
