Basketball Game Preview: Chapel Hill Bulldogs vs. Gilmer Buckeyes

Chapel Hill is 2-8 against Gilmer since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Chapel Hill Bulldogs will face off against the Gilmer Buckeyes at 5:45 p.m. Gilmer took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Chapel Hill, who comes in off a win.

On Tuesday, Chapel Hill blew past Cumberland Academy, posting a 56-24 victory. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matches by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Gilmer came up short against Henderson on Tuesday and fell 56-45.

Gilmer dropped their record down to 6-22 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Chapel Hill, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-9 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Chapel Hill against Gilmer in their previous matchup on January 7th, as the team secured a 46-15 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Chapel Hill since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
