Baseball Recap: Wilson Takes a Loss

Wilson extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping them down to 1-6. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Whittier Cardinals. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2025.

As for Whittier, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games.

For Whittier's part, the team relied heavily on Ryan Jimenez, who went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Jimenez a new career-high. Christian Juarez also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wilson will head out to take on Troy at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Whittier, they will venture away from home to square off against Whittier Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
