League recap: Central wins, gets boost in standings

Central was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to fifth in AAA Region 2.

Peach County extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Jackson, 34-13. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.

On the ground, Peach County's Demarcus Robinson has rushed for 20 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Robinson. The Peach County star has 19 catches for 434 yards.

Two highly touted recruits will be in the spotlight when Chad Campbell's team and the Chargers meet this week. The Trojans features well-regarded senior Robinson while Central has Nigel Bowden, a sought after senior.

A big matchup in AAA Region 2 this week will be when Peach County takes on the Chargers. The Trojans are in first place, while Central is in fifth place.

Pike County moved up to 193 from 236 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Pirates were able to make the jump by beating Southwest 28-14.
