Football Game Preview: Deer Trail vs. Primero

After two weeks on the road, Deer Trail is heading back home. On Saturday they will take on Primero at 1:00 PM. Deer Trail know how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Primero like a good challenge.

Last Saturday, Deer Trail put the finishing touches on their 4th blowout victory of the season. They took the match and then some with a 54-19 win over Cripple Creek-Victor. That looming 35-point mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Deer Trail yet.

Meanwhile, Primero have been struggling to pick up a victory, with their matchup against Hanover making it seven winless games in a row. Primero were dealt a punishing 7-54 defeat at the hands of Hanover.

Deer Trail's victory lifted them to 5-2 while Primero's loss dropped them down to 0-7. In their victory, Deer Trail relied heavily on junior Walker Morelock, who rushed for 249 yards and 7 touchdowns. Primero will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
