Softball Game Preview: Vinal RVT Hawks vs. Wolcott RVT Wildcats

Vinal RVT hasn't had much luck against Wolcott RVT recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Hawks will look to defend their home field against the Wildcats at 3:45 p.m.

Vinal RVT came into this matchup off a tough 14-run defeat on Wednesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Cheney Tech by a score of 10-8 on Friday. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Wolcott RVT waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 21-2 margin over the Lions. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by 12 runs or more this season.

Brooke Curtis was incredible, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

Wolcott RVT always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .846. They are 6-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Wolcott RVT pushed their record up to 7-10 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Vinal RVT, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8.
