The Ocean View Seahawks will challenge the Bellflower Buccaneers at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Ocean View will be strutting in after a win while Bellflower will be coming in after a loss.
Ocean View is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Godinez Fundamental with a sharp 12-4 victory on Tuesday. The Seahawks haven't had any issues with the Grizzlies recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Ellie Pendergraft was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base.

In other batting news, Kaya Collado and Mackenna King did most of the damage at the plate: Collado scored four runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances, while King went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance gave King a new career-high in RBI. Emily Mayorga was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-5.
Meanwhile, Bellflower was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 12-1 to Cerritos.
Bellflower saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Crystal Menchaca, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Valery Wilches also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Bellflower's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Ocean View, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-7.
Ocean View's speedy runners might be the difference in Wednesday's game. Ocean View has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game.
