Holmes put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Perquimans Pirates. For the Aces, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 victory the Pirates walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Holmes was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The final score came out to 25-18, 17-25, 23-25, 25-22, 17-15.

SarahLogan Cobb paced Holmes' offense, picking up 27 kills. Cobb got some help from Harper Evans and her 44 assists. Mariah Miller controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Despite the defeat, Perquimans had strong showings from Hayleigh Solesbee, who had ten digs and two aces, and Kaydee Hunter, who had 19 kills, 19 digs, and one block. Hunter is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had seven or more in each of the last 17 games she's played.

Holmes' win bumped their record up to 16-0. As for Perquimans, their loss ended a 17-match streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 15-3.

Holmes has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Manteo on the 23rd. As for Perquimans, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Currituck County on the 22nd.
