Volleyball Recap: Dimond Has No Trouble Against Juneau-Douglas

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Dimond had no problem doing just that on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Juneau-Douglas Crimson Bears as they made off with a 3-0 win. The Lynx have beaten the Crimson Bears the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Crimson Bears has come to flipping the script.

Dimond was especially dominant in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-17, 25-21.

Anayah Sila paced Dimond's offense, picking up nine kills. Sila got some help from Puao Asailevai and her 15 assists. Asailevai was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Dimond's victory bumped their record up to 34-13-1. As for Juneau-Douglas, with the defeat, they broke their four-match winning streak and moved their record to 25-19-7.

Dimond has already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Colony on the 13th. As for Juneau-Douglas, they will square off against Lathrop at 11:45 a.m. on Friday.
