Recap: Desert Edge Scorpions vs. Notre Dame Prep Saints

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Desert Edge Scorpions had no problem doing just that on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 45-14 win over the Saints. Desert Edge might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won seven matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Leading Desert Edge to victory were Hezekiah Millender and Markhi Mckinnon. Millender threw for 185 yards and three touchdowns while completing 90.9% of his passes, while Mckinnon rushed for 169 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries. Mckinnon really tore up the turf during one magnificent 70-yard run. Another player making a difference was Kezion Dia-johnson, who picked up 91 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Although Notre Dame Prep took the loss, they still got scores from Jameson Bush and Kolten Jones.

Desert Edge has yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 10-2 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.4 points per game. As for Notre Dame Prep, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

Desert Edge will stay at home for another week and welcome Horizon at 7:00 p.m. on November 24th. Horizon is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games. Notre Dame Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
