Basketball Game Preview: Harrisburg Tigers vs. Stevens Raiders

Having just played yesterday, the Harrisburg Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Stevens Raiders at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Harrisburg knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Stevens likes a good challenge.

On Friday, Harrisburg was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 62-58 to Rapid City Central. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Tigers came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while the Cobblers are ranked 63rd).

Meanwhile, Stevens was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 47-44 heartbreaker at the hands of Yankton. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Raiders have suffered since December 20, 2024.

Harrisburg's loss dropped their record down to 14-3. As for Stevens, they now have a losing record of 9-10.

Harrisburg was able to grind out a solid win over Stevens in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, winning 59-52. The rematch might be a little tougher for Harrisburg since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
