Volleyball Game Preview: St. Mary's Knights vs. Mesquite Wildcats

St. Mary is 1-8 against Mesquite since October of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Knights will be playing at home against the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m.

St. Mary's is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest defeat since September 17th on Wednesday. They came up short against Arcadia, falling 3-0.

St. Mary's was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-22, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Mesquite came tearing into Wednesday's match with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Padres with a sharp 3-0 victory.

St. Mary's loss dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Mesquite, their win bumped their record up to 19-3.

St. Mary's suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Mesquite in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
