Softball Recap: Wells Comes Up Short

The matchup between Wells and Lake Region on Wednesday hardly resembled the 2-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Warriors fell 12-8 to the Lakers. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lakers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Savannah Tardiff made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Payton Fazzina, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Wells' loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Lake Region, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Wells will take on rival Gray-New Gloucester at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Lake Region is set to challenge their familiar foe Fryeburg at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
