Basketball Game Preview: Radford Bobcats vs. Alleghany Cougars

Radford is 2-8 against Alleghany since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Bobcats face off against the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. Radford will be strutting in after a win while Alleghany will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Thursday, Radford strolled past Glenvar with points to spare, taking the game 53-39. The victory continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Highlanders: they've now won four in a row.

It was another big night for Kearson Carter, who dropped a double-double with 22 points and 11 steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Radford's points. Another player making a difference was Angel Thompson, who posted 11 points and four steals.

Meanwhile, Alleghany was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 42-37 to James River.

Alleghany dropped their record down to 14-6 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Radford, the win got them back to even at 9-9.

Radford came up short against Alleghany in their previous matchup back in January, falling 58-48. Can Radford avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
