Basketball Recap: Round Valley Comes Up Short

Round Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by the Monument Valley Mustangs 72-44. The Elks were down 55-32 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Despite the loss, Round Valley still got an impressive performance from Brennan Brown, who went 5 for 11 en route to 11 points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Brown a new career-high in steals (two). Kade Latham was another key player, putting up ten points.

Monument Valley was led to victory by Mekhi Parrish and Jayden Tsosie. Parrish went 7 of 10 on his way to 21 points, while Tsosie went 7 for 14 en route to 20 points along with six boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Ralph Gray III, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.

Round Valley's record is now 4-16. As for Monument Valley, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 6-10 record.

Round Valley has already played their next match, a 51-47 defeat against Valley on the 16th. As for Monument Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-59 loss against Show Low on the 16th.
