Basketball Game Preview: Bristow Pirates vs. Cleveland Tigers

The Bristow Pirates will square off against the Cleveland Tigers at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Bristow has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since January 14.

Last Tuesday, Bristow was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 65-59 to Perkins-Tryon. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (55), the Pirates still had to take the loss.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Brian Hopgood. Jr., who went 5 of 8 on his way to 13 points along with eight rebounds and five blocks. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 2.1 blocks per game. Tayt Jackson was another key player, putting up 22 points.

Meanwhile, Cleveland was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 61-57 to Berryhill. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Chiefs: they've now lost four in a row.

Cleveland's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Bristow, their loss dropped their record down to 4-13.

Everything came up roses for Bristow against Cleveland in their previous matchup back in January, as the team secured a 74-46 win. Will Bristow repeat their success, or does Cleveland have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
