Basketball Game Preview: Christian Brothers Falcons vs. Rio Americano Raiders

Christian Brothers is 1-9 against Rio Americano since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Christian Brothers Falcons will be playing at home against the Rio Americano Raiders at 7:30 p.m. Christian Brothers is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

Last Monday, Christian Brothers didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Vanden, but they still walked away with a 64-58 win.

Christian Brothers' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Andre Rabb-Patterson, who went 9 of 14 en route to 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Stephan Hewitt, who posted 18 points in addition to five boards and three blocks.

Rio Americano has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were outmatched by Inderkum and fell 69-41. Christian Brothers has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. As for Rio Americano, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 14-7.

Christian Brothers came up short against Rio Americano when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 62-55. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Rio Americano's Adrian Devenecia, who went 8 for 13 on his way to 30 points.
