Linn-Mar put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Pleasant Valley Spartans a 3-0 shutout. Three seems to be a good number for the Lions as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Linn-Mar pushed their record up to 7-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.2 runs on average over those games. As for Pleasant Valley, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 7-1.

Looking ahead, Linn-Mar will face off against Kennedy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Lions 0.3, the Cougars 4) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Pleasant Valley, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 19-1 victory against Solon on the 6th.
