Basketball Recap: Ruby Hudak and Ava Piovarchy Secure Win for Buckeye

Buckeye posted their biggest victory since November 27, 2024 on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Valley Forge Patriots with a sharp 43-21 win. The Bucks pushed the score to 37-13 by the end of the third, a deficit the Patriots cut but never quite recovered from.

Leading Buckeye to victory were Ava Piovarchy and Ruby Hudak. Piovarchy went 5 for 9 on her way to 13 points, while Hudak posted nine points and eight rebounds. Hudak has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. Another player making a difference was Molly Danilovic, who scored seven points and five boards.

Buckeye smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in ten consecutive matchups.

Buckeye's victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Valley Forge, they dropped their record down to 0-11 with the loss, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.

Buckeye has already played their next contest, a 44-24 win against Barberton on the 13th. As for Valley Forge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 42-33 defeat against Garrett Morgan on the 13th.
