Recap: Cheney RVT Beavers vs. Grasso Tech Eagles
The third road matchup was the charm for the Cheney RVT Beavers, as they earned their first road win of the season. They came out on top against Grasso Tech by a score of 28-21 on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Cheney RVT also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Cheney RVT was led to victory by Cristialis Carrasquillo and Trinity Hazel. Carrasquillo scored nine points along with six rebounds and three blocks, while Hazel scored 11 points along with six rebounds and four steals. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Hazel has scored at least 25% of Cheney RVT's points. Myaliz Lopez was another key contributor, scoring five points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Cheney RVT's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Grasso Tech, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cheney RVT will challenge Academy of Aerospace and Engineering at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Grasso Tech, they will head out on the road to face off against Windham RVT at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
