Basketball Recap: Rush-Henrietta Takes a Loss

On Monday, the Rush-Henrietta Royal Comets were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 63-59 to the Greece Athena Trojans. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (57), the Royal Comets still had to take the loss.

Having lost for the first time this season, Rush-Henrietta fell to 16-1. As for Greece Athena, they pushed their record up to 13-1 with the victory, which was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rush-Henrietta will welcome Fairport at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Fairport's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Greece Athena, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Pittsford at 6:45 p.m. Greece Athena knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 14 matches -- so hopefully Pittsford likes a good challenge.
