Volleyball Recap: Mountain View Takes a Loss

Mountain View was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Ironwood Ridge Nighthawks. The Mountain Lions were not able to make up for their loss to the Nighthawks from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Bryant Sorensen paced Mountain View's offense, picking up ten kills. Sorensen got some help from Chase Reidhead and his 22 assists. Finally, Oliver Scott kept Mountain View's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Mountain View's defeat dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Ironwood Ridge, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Mountain View wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Salpointe Catholic on the 12th. As for Ironwood Ridge, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Rincon/University on the 12th.
