Baseball Recap: Santaluces Triumphs

Santaluces proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 16) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Palm Beach Lakes Rams 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Chiefs have posted since March 20, 2025.

Daniel Valentin looked comfortable as he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Abner Garcia, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexander Spainhour, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Santaluces' win bumped their record up to 2-13. As for Palm Beach Lakes, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Santaluces didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-2 defeat against Jupiter Christian on the 6th. Palm Beach Lakes has also already played their next matchup (against Glades Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
