Custer County has a chance to get its first conference win this week when it squares off against Simla on Friday at 7:00 PM. Each team is hoping that this match will help them forget substantial defeats in their prior games.

Custer County wasn't able to get on the board against Kiowa last game. The team fell 31 - 0. It was anyone's game at the half (2 - 0), but Custer County just couldn't get it going in the second half.

As for Simla, the result of Simla's last game was disheartening but, based on state rankings, not too surprising. It simply didn't have it last week, losing 73 - 18 to Hoehne. Simla was in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 65 - 18.

After their losses, Custer County dropped to 2-6 and Simla dropped to 3-5. Both Simla and Custer County have been struggling on the defensive side of the ball (the former allowing an average of 41.25 points per game, the latter an average of 35.62 points per game). We'll find out which offense can take advantage of this fact when the two teams meet this week.
