Baseball Game Preview: Clover Eagles vs. Nation Ford Falcons

For the second straight game, Clover will face off against Nation Ford. The Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Clover hasn't scored more than two runs for four games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Clover duked it out with Nation Ford on Monday. The Eagles fell 4-0 to the Falcons. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by exactly four runs.

Aiden Smith was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out 13 batters over 7.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits.

Nation Ford is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Clover, they now have a losing record of 10-11.
