Basketball Recap: Churchland Takes Down Warhill in a Playoff Battle

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Churchland walked away with it. They came out on top against the Warhill Lions by a score of 60-47 on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Truckers also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2019.

Warhill lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Hunter Brown, who posted 13 points. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (80%). Another player making a difference was Caden Cherry, who earned 13 points.

The victory made it two in a row for Churchland and bumps their season record up to 15-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.5 points over those games. As for Warhill, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-11 record this season.

Churchland will head out to square off against Smithfield at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Smithfield will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Churchland surely won't give up without a fight. Warhill does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
