Basketball Game Preview: Santa Cruz Valley Dust Devils vs. Horizon Honors Eagles

Santa Cruz Valley is 1-6 against Horizon Honors since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Santa Cruz Valley Dust Devils will head out to take on the Horizon Honors Eagles at 5:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Santa Cruz Valley will head into Tuesday's match out to bounce back: they won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Phoenix Country Day and fell 62-4. Meanwhile, Horizon Honors ended up a good deal behind Arizona Lutheran Academy on Wednesday and lost 53-36.

Horizon Honors dropped their record down to 12-10 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Santa Cruz Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.

Santa Cruz Valley took a serious blow against Horizon Honors when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 53-22. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Horizon Honors' Audriana Anglada, who went 5 of 9 en route to 12 points in addition to eight boards and three steals.
