Baseball Recap: Minerva Comes Up Short

Minerva fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Tuslaw on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 7-6. The loss continues a trend for the Lions in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost five in a row.

Minerva saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nick Wandle, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

Minerva's defeat dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Tuslaw, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-6.

Looking ahead, Minerva will venture away from home to challenge Sandy Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tuslaw, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 7-5 victory against Marlington on the 9th.
