Clinton had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.3 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Fairfield Central Griffins as they made off with a 39-18 win. The Red Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 21 points or more this season.

Clinton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bryanna Belton led the charge by putting up eight points. Belton is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Mylayja Thompson was another key player, posting eight points.

Despite the loss, Fairfield Central saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ashlynn Pinkney posted three points along with eight steals and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jazzlyn McMillan, who put up nine points in addition to six boards and four blocks.

Clinton's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-5. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.3 points over those games. As for Fairfield Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-11.

Clinton has already played their next game, a 67-29 win against Liberty on the 17th. As for Fairfield Central, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 37-28 victory against Strom Thurmond on the 17th.
