Softball Game Preview: South Side Rams vs. McGuffey Highlanders

The South Side Rams will face off against the McGuffey Highlanders at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. South Side is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.3 runs per game this season.

South Side fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Central Valley on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 5-4.

South Side saw nine different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maya Ringhoff, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Addie Graff also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, McGuffey came up short against Jefferson-Morgan on Tuesday and fell 6-2. The Highlanders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

South Side has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. McGuffey now has a losing record of 1-2.

South Side couldn't quite get it done against McGuffey when the teams last played back in April of 2017 as they fell 4-0. Can South Side avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
