Baseball Recap: Greater Beckley Christian Takes a Loss

Greater Beckley Christian lost against WestSide back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Crusaders lost 16-9 to the Renegades. The Crusaders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Greater Beckley Christian saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eli Gunter, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Josh Garlow was another, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Greater Beckley Christian now has a losing record of 6-7. As for WestSide, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-8.

Looking ahead, Greater Beckley Christian will face off against Richwood at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lumberjacks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.09 runs per game on average), something the Crusaders will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for WestSide, they have already played their next game, a 5-1 win against Liberty on the 21st.
