Basketball Recap: Wiggins Takes a Loss

Wiggins lost against Byers back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Wiggins Tigers took a hard 61-45 fall against the Byers Bulldogs.

Byers' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aj Engle led the charge by going 5 for 7 on his way to 11 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Eastwood, who posted ten points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Wiggins' loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Byers, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.

Wiggins will venture away from home to take on Merino at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Byers, they will challenge Simla at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Simla is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 72.4 points per game this season.
