Maddie Carroll put up the most strikeouts she's had since back in April on Saturday. She struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

Carroll's effort led Rock Island over Normal West and she'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
