Softball Recap: Howard Takes a Loss

Howard and Westminster squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Howard had to settle for second. They fell 4-0 to the Owls.

Kiersten Black spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

Howard's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7-1. As for Westminster, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-9 record this season.

Howard does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Westminster, they will face off against Mt. Hebron on Monday.
