Softball Recap: Fenwick Beats Aurora Central Catholic for Their Third Straight Win

Fenwick extended their winning streak to three on Monday, bumping their season record up to 6-4 in the process. They came out on top against the Aurora Central Catholic Chargers by a score of 11-7. Fenwick's win was all the more impressive since the Chargers were averaging only 2.96 runs allowed on the season.

Molly Mullen was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Gabriella Simon, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Fenwick kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

As for Aurora Central Catholic, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-6. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for they, who until this contest were averaging 2.96 runs allowed.

On Aurora Central Catholic's side, Grace Grunloh made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Jessica Pleckham, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fenwick will face off against Loyola Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Aurora Central Catholic, they will take on Nazareth Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
