Baseball Game Preview: Monterey Wolves vs. Delta Charter Storm

The Monterey Wolves will take on the Delta Charter Storm at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Monterey has given up an average of 15.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Monterey is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 11 runs on Friday, they were much more limited against Holden on Thursday. They came up short against the Rockets, falling 17-1. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Monterey saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryan Tillman, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Delta Charter, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They put the hurt on Ferriday with a sharp 18-3 win on Tuesday.

The team relied heavily on Will Wiley, who scored three runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Layne King, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Delta Charter always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .821. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Monterey's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Delta Charter, their victory bumped their record up to 5-7.
