Basketball Recap: Marissa/Coulterville Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Marissa/Coulterville won the last time they faced Steeleville and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Marissa/Coulterville Meteors walked away with a 43-30 victory over the Steeleville Warriors. Given the Meteors' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 236th, while the Warriors are ranked 552nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the defeat, Steeleville had strong showings from Rylan Reiss, who went 5-for-11 on her way to 14 points, and Avery Roberts, who posted seven points. That's the most points Roberts has posted since back in December of 2023.
