Softball Game Preview: Union County Fightin' Tigers vs. Dixie County Bears

The Union County Fightin' Tigers will take on the Dixie County Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Union County is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Branford just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Monday. They lost 13-3 to the Buccaneers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Fightin' Tigers have suffered since February 27th.

Courtney Manning was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Dixie County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against Bronson, falling 6-0.

Union County's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Dixie County, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.

Union County's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's contest. Union County has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Dixie County, though, as they've been averaging only 1.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Union County continue to outrun the ball?
